The Lil Nas X-inspired ‘Nah He Tweakin’ Meme At Tony Hawk Explained
Lil Nas X and Tony Hawk have seemingly landed themselves in an unlikely online disagreement. It comes after the skateboarder released a line of boards with Liquid Death, which include small drops of his own blood.
Lil Nas X was taken aback by this, and with him, many other fans have suggested Hawk might be “tweakin” for his behavior.
The rapper’s derision at this idea does not come from any upset at the idea, but because his own version of this fell incredibly flat.

Earlier this year, Lil Nas X released a limited edition shoe, called the Satan Shoes, which contained one drop of blood in the soles.
The shoes had a pentagram on the front and included a Bible verse relating to Satan’s descent from heaven.
The black and red shoes were produced by MSCHF, a Brooklyn-based art collective, and 666 pairs were made.
However, the shoes were modified versions of the Nike Air Max 97s, and as the sportswear conglomerate was not involved in the production, it sued the company for copyright infringement.
In response to the lawsuit, Lil Nas X posted a photo on Twitter of Squidward, the SpongeBob SquarePants character, begging for money in a cardboard box. The lawsuit was settled.
After the rapper saw the blood-infused skateboards from Hawk, he shared his upset about them with another tweet.
He wrote: “now that tony hawk has released skateboards with his blood painted on them, and there was no public outrage, are y’all ready to admit y’all were never actually upset over the blood in the shoes? and maybe u were mad for some other reason?”
This opened up a whole thread with some suggesting they were upset over the satanic imagery on the shoes, while others suggested homophobia and racism were the real reasons.
Why Is ‘Nah He Tweaking’ Trending?
While he posted a tweet sharing his views on the subject, Lil Nas X also posted a simple comment on RapTV’s Instagram page, which spoke of the new skateboards.
He simple wrote: “Nah he’s tweakin,” which suggests he is acting very strangely, coming from a term relating to those who act in an odd way after using drugs, particularly methamphetamine.
This led to many of the rapper’s fans joining him and suddenly posts all over Instagram and Twitter read the same thing.
This gave way, of course, to memes about people posting, as they left the comment on posts about Hawk’s skateboards and more.
Some of the tweets showed favorite cartoon characters SpongeBob SquarePants and Bart Simpson writing the comments or resting after spending hours tweeting and on Instagram.
Others expressed irritation at the number of comments their posts had received with the rapper’s words.
Even Instagram posted a meme relating to the comment as they shared information on issues people were experiencing with their comments.
The skateboard collaboration of 100 drops of blood-infused boards between Hawk and Liquid Death sold out in under 20 minutes, with proceeds going to charity.
Newsweek has reached out to representatives for the Liquid Death x Tony Hawk collaboration for comment.
